nailed it: five shades of pink

During the coldest moments, days, and weeks, of Boston's winter, I look for little promises of Spring. I recently got a manicure and requested five different shades of pink on each of my nails to make them feel like little blooming flowers amidst the snow.

The colors started boldest on my thumbs and lightened towards my pinkies. This ombre effect was such a cheerful look and I'll definitely do it again.

The only downside is that I can only do this manicure at a salon since they have so many different shades of one color.

Next time you're getting a manicure, consider an ombre effect in a fun color. I think greens or blues would also look really fabulous.

Thank you for reading!

  6. what a great idea, especially if you have an extensive collection of nail polishes to work with. Now I've just got to brush up on my nail painting skills.

  7. It looks fantastic - what a wonderful idea! I always want to do more than two colors but wonder if they'll think I'm high maintenance.
