what's your signature look?

Instead of making a resolution that you may ditch before Martin Luther King Jr. day, this year, I recommend resolving to identify a signature look for yourself. This look will be something you'll wear often and feel like your best self in. Keep it a low pressure resolution that you can come back to throughout the year. One of my signature looks is that I only wear gold jewelry.

As part of my gold jewelry look, I always wear a delicate gold necklace. I have several that I choose from depending on my mood or outfit. I will sometimes layer the gold necklace with other gold necklaces.

But my gold doesn't stop there. I don't carry bags or wear clothes or accessories without gold hardware. This really helps me to stay focused when I shop and helps pull all of my looks together. Aside from my gold jewels, I also only wear skirts or dresses at work. No pants for me. Even in the winter. I'll refashion dresses a bunch of ways to maximize my wardrobe.

A signature look should come naturally based on your own style and what looks best on you. Identify what you gravitate towards (and why) and then be intentional about it in 2013. Maybe you always have statement earrings in, or you wear your hair differently nearly everyday. Perhaps you are always in jeans or you're known for wearing bright colors, even in the winter. It's not something you're locked into for your lifetime or even for the whole of 2013. Have fun with it!
